I specialize in working with teens 16+ and adults impacted by anxiety, panic, PTSD/C-PTSD, depression, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. In addition, I enjoy working with families to help them repair and strengthen their relationships, create healthier patterns of communication, and build trust and connection with one another. It is also a passion of mine to help those who are feeling "stuck" or just unsatisfied with life identify their values, what fuels their zest for life, then develop a vision that aligns with that, and create an action plan to start living a more meaningful and fulfilling life. I strive to be compassionate, open-minded and sensitive to individuals and families coming from all walks of life.
Working from an integrative approach to therapy, I apply a variety of techniques stemming from Internal Family Systems (IFS)/Parts Work, Hakomi, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindful Self-Compassion, Polyvagal Theory, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Therapeutic Yoga, and Ecotherapy. Working closely with individuals and families on their path toward healing, growth, and fulfillment is an honor and something I take very seriously.
Being outdoors is a large part of the work I do and something I am very passionate about. As an Ecotherapist, I am deeply aware of the gifts and healing powers nature provides. In nature, we are free from the judgement, shame, and distractions of the human world. Nature gives us a safe space to explore emotions, process trauma, and improve clarity and cognition. I believe nature has the intuitive sense of what we need.
I meet with clients via telehealth which allows for greater flexibility with scheduling, location, and comfort. My clients enjoy the convenience of being able to meet with me from the privacy of their home, car, or on a walk. I strive to make telehealth meetings just as natural, engaging and authentic as in-person meetings. I encourage my clients to choose a space that is private, comfortable, and has good wifi/internet service. With advances in technology, there are numerous places to meet from! You choose what feels good to you.
Most people think telehealth means in front of a screen with a view of of your therapist and their office. Well, this a refreshing and unique way to experience telehealth! I offer "walk and talk" sessions where we can meet over phone and take in the beauty of our own surroundings. We might walk for a bit and then find a peaceful place to sit. This is a wonderful way to experience telehealth and also take in the vast benefits of being in nature!
As an Ecotherapist, I enjoy partnering with nature to bring clients closer to themselves and the more-than-human-world. I may guide you through a mindfulness practice where you interact with nature through your senses, or lead you through a nature-inspired meditation leaving you feeling relaxed and grounded.
I also offer ecotherapy or "walk and talk" sessions at local parks, trails, and natural areas in Coupeville on Whidbey Island. We are so fortunate to have evergreen trees, saltwater, sand and abundant wildlife on this island. Let's take therapy outdoors and soak up the natural beauty and healing benefits of nature.
My rate is $160 ($180 as of 1/1/2025) for a 50 minute session. Sessions longer than 50 minutes are pro-rated in 10-minute increments.
Accepted forms of payment include electronic transfer, HSA and credit card processing. Payment is due at the time of service.
